In the Tailoring program, trainees learn garment-making skills — from understanding fabric and measurements to operating sewing machines and crafting finished apparel. This course provides hands-on experience with stitching techniques that can be applied toward home-based production, boutique work, or small business ventures. Learning tailoring not only fosters creativity but also builds practical craftsmanship that can generate self-employment or local job opportunities.
The strategic purpose of the tailoring project is to empower women and other marginalised individuals with a vocational skill that promotes economic self-reliance. By offering practical training and the confidence to start their own micro-enterprises, Zwilling Foundation India supports participants in becoming contributors to their family incomes and active members of their communities.
